Glow Up Facial
Sal Esencial’s Glow up Facial combines our amazing facial treatment and
dermaplaning. This combo will give your face a more even tone, smoother texture, and
a brighter glow.
First, let’s go through what it is!Dermaplaning gently removes any unwanted dead skin cells and peach fuzz (vellus hair) on our faces using a painless blade. This helps exfoliate the skin on a deeper level than a facial scrub.
Not only does it whisk away the dullness, but it also kicks unwanted product build-up to the curb, leaving your skin looking fresher, younger, and more even toned than ever before. You're basically giving your face a spa-worthy reboot right at home!
We start with our Esencial facial which involves a double cleanse, rinse with our
Azuleno tonic spray to calm your skin before we begin the dermaplaning service. This
process can take 30-40 minutes depending on how much hair and dry skin that needs
to be removed.
Once this has been completed, we will apply a facial mask and finish this service off
with applying our signature elixir face oil (formerly known as Rosehip Oil) combined with
Sal Esencial’s sunscreen.
NOTES
What does all of this mean?
Your Sal Esencial esthetician, will work with you in order to understand any issues or concerns you may have about your skin, our products and your facial treatment.
Devices used during your facial:
Sonic Vibration Face Scrubber
Working together with our exceptional cleaners, this helps to eliminate dead skin & excess oil. This vibrating facial cleaner experience gently penetrates your pores, removing trapped dirt, and built-up oils that you may not even know you have. The heated massager mimics the natural temperature of skin pores, relaxes facel and neck while promoting blood circulation & skin tightening.
Skin Scrubber Face Spatula
This assists with gentle deep cleaning, blackhead, oil removal and optimizes the performance of our amazing face care products.
Facial Massager & Radiofrequency Device
This is our kingpin of equipment! Just a note about this device, during your session, you may briefly experience a tingling sensation and it may feel warm during your sessions. Don’t worry, this doesn’t last and it’s not burning your skin. It’s ‘fooling’ your skin into thinking it’s been injured and thereby forcing your skin to produce collagen to help “heal” your skin.
- What is radiofrequency – Our radiofrequency skin tightening device adopts radiofrequency (RF) skin therapy. The procedure involves using energy waves to heat your dermis skin layer to naturally build collagen and repair elastin. Moreover, it is armed with a smart isothermal system to avoid skin burning.
- What are the benefits? – Our anti-aging device also helps reduce lines and wrinkles, improve skin penetration, and product absorption abilities. We apply our amazing face serum during this routine.
- Cooling – During your session, you will experience a cooling sensation. Think of it this way, radiofrequency heating will open pores during operation, the cooling function for face and eyes is there to help shrink pores.
Ice Globes
During your treatment these ice globes are used to calm and cool your skin. This assists in reduction of puffy eyes and tightens the skin around your eyes. It helps to reduce dark circles along with assisting with inflammation.
LED Light Therapy
LED light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes different wavelengths of infrared light to help treat various skin issues such as acne, fine lines, and wound healing. It was first developed for clinical use by NASA back in the nineties to help heal astronauts' skin wounds.
We can offer a longer session of LED light therapy for those looking to gain faster results. We would provide an express facial and a 30-40 minute LED light therapy session. The cost of this is $400.00 MXN.
- Blue Light – Acne, Oily - affects uppermost layer or skin; soothes inflammation and calms sensitive skin. This affects the uppermost layer of skin.
- Red Light – Anti-aging, Normal – travels further into your skin than blue & yellow; promotes collagen production, combats wrinkles.
- Cyan Light – Sensitive Skin – reduces acne & pigment stains; reduces swollen capillaries. Helps with healing sun damage and inflammation.
- Yellow Light – Combination – reduces melanin production; alleviates redness from inflammation, sunburns & rosacea; stimulates lymphatic
AFTER CARE
Facial after care information
Our Esthetician will apply a light layer of our Sal Esencial sunscreen after your session. Facials are a great way of getting rid of unwanted dirt and bacteria. However, taking precautionary measures after your monthly facial routine is equally important to maintain good skin health.
What Happens To Your Skin After A Facial?
- It Becomes Sensitive
- Not in a negative way - but remember, your skin has undergone mini surgery with all the blackhead removal, scrubbing, steaming and face packs. Your new cells are exposed, and they require some time to mature. For a few hours after your facial, your skin stays sensitive and may react to any harsh products it touches. You may also see some breakouts. This is normal and with proper skin care routine will disappear within the next couple of days.
- Your Pores Are Still Open
- The steam has opened your pores. Touching your skin too much can allow dirt and bacteria to accumulate within the deeper layers of skin.
- Your Skin Is Well-Hydrated
- Even though a lot of moisture has been added to your skin, you need to maintain it by drinking enough water for the next 2-3 days. You don’t want to lose out on that post-facial glow.
Things to Consider before and after your facial
- Use one of our gentle cleansers.
- Remember that your skin is more sensitive than otherwise post facial. Using one of our gentle cleansers recommended by our Esthetician will allow your skin barrier to stay intact, while removing dirt, debris and unwanted grease off your face.
- Complete All Other Face Treatments Before Your Facial
- Face waxing, threading and other such treatments should be done before your facial. Your skin tends to get sensitive post facial. Waxing or threading after your facial can irritate your skin and even contribute to rashes.
- Drink Enough Water
- All the moisturizers, face masks and creams have done a good job with hydrating your skin. Now it’s your turn to hydrate your body to allow the glow to stay for longer. Drink lots of water, juices, and other fluids to keep your skin and body hydrated after a facial.
- Clean anything that touches your face - Use Fresh Towels And Change Your Pillow Cover
- Your pores are wide open. Any dirt or bacteria that touches your face can easily slide through that open pore and block it, resulting in inflammation and zits. Use a freshly washed towel and change your pillow cover before going to bed.
- Sanitize your gadgets and anything else that constantly touches your face. In case you have an event, make sure your makeup brushes are clean.
- Avoid Scrubbing Your Face For The Next 4-5 Days
- Exfoliating is great, but over-exfoliating your skin can eradicate its protective layer. Facials involve deep-cleansing and scrubbing that will keep your skin soft and free of dead skin cells for quite a few days.
Stay Away From The Sun after your Facial
UV rays can damage your skin barrier. Always make it a point to stay away from the sun after your facial. All the scrubbing and cleansing involved in a facial can make your skin sensitive. If you do require to go out in the sun right after a facial, make sure you wear our sunscreen recommended by our Esthetician.
General Rules after your Facial
Don’t Pop Pimples
- You may experience a breakout, this is normal. We have just removed dirt, oil, and bacteria from your face. If you have whiteheads, blackheads or any other zits and pimples that managed to get through the facial, leave them alone. Touching or popping your pimples can cause more breakouts, inflammation, or scarring.
- Don’t Wear Makeup Immediately
- Your pores are still open with all the steam and deep cleansing. Wearing makeup after a facial can clog your pores. Your skin has just undergone a heavy, deep-cleansing session. Give it space to breathe and time for your pores to close before you let anything get trapped within the deeper layers of your skin.
- Avoid Using Topical Retinoids Or Acid Peels
At least for 3-4 days after your facial, don’t use topical treatments that may dry out your skin. Your skin is vulnerable and may react to these creams, gels and lotions containing drying ingredients.
